Impressive Large Yellow Sapphire Gold Flower Brooch Voirin Sonrel for Rene Boivin

Large 18k yellow gold flower brooch, with round cut vivid yellow sapphires. Brooch possibly made by Rene Boivin, bears punchmarks on the stem. Brooch measures 2.25" x 2 1/8". Weight of the piece - 48.1 grams.

Voirin Sonrel was a successor to Rene Boivin, taking over production on April 8, 1966. Sonrel's hallmark was taken from Boivin as well: a snake with the initials V.S., as referenced in Dictionnaire des joailliers, bijoutiers et orfevres, de 1850 a nos jours by Remi Verlet and Daniel Alcouffe.
